Should I frame for the space or for the art?

Should a picture be framed for the space it is going in or should we pick framing for the piece?

I get this question quite often and it’s a really good one!.

The framing should match the style and period of the art. That way you can always move the art and know that IT will look great. Sometimes though, this isn’t possible. An old family heirloom, framed accordingly, wouldn’t look good in an ultra modern house. Our goal would be framing it in a way that would enhance the aesthetic of the art and make it look amazing in your space. This is tricky but we accomplish this daily.
